Ancient Benedictine Abbey from the XIth Century, which became in the late XVth century the residence of Cardinal Giuliano della Rovere – later, Pope Giulio II -, Relais della Rovere was completely restored in 2000 and brought back to its original splendor. This harmonious Villa features thirty lovely rooms spacious and comfortable. The restoration, carried out with great attention, brought to a new light the elements of the structures which had been forgotten, and reinstated the edifice to its original harmony. Strong of an experience already gained in the hospitality field with other historical residences in the Province of Siena, the owners opened the doors of the Relais Della Rovere with the objective to provide their guests with a warm and hospitable atmosphere worthy of the traditional Italian hospitality. The restaurant Il Cardinale with its elegant but relaxed ambience welcomes you for a sampling of flavors of the traditional Tuscan cuisine accompanied by a tasteful glass of Chianti wine. You will find a large park with a great outdoor pool, a cloister inside the Relais where you can enjoy an aperitif in complete peace to enjoy the beautiful countryside… a golf course only a few steps away from the Relais, horse riding facilities only 3 km away. A nice walk will take you to Colle di Val d’Elsa where you will find all the local artisans and workshops… Travel through time and stop your watch in Relais della Rovere… |
