Ostapé is an hotel de charme located a few kilometers from the seaside resort town of Biarritz, in the heart of the verdant hill region of the Basque country. Welcome is warm and pleasing, in perfect harmony with the generosity of the Basque Country itself. Ostapé is also a regional gourmet stop-over for its guests: traditional Navarrian cuisine interpreted by Alain Souliac. Omnipresent nature, absolute silence, comfort and refinement contribute to making Ostapé an exceptional and unique hotel.

Its spacious twenty two suites, each decorated differently and with its private terraces offering a breathtaking views of the estate's magnificent 45 hectares. The suites are distributed among five typical Basque villas on the property. The original 17th-century manor house, stud farm and borde (an ancient hut) have been completely restored, and four new buildings, faithful to traditional Basque architecture, have been added. They all include a lobby, a living room, and some have a fireplace. All rooms overlook the mountain and the valley and all have a balcony or a terrace.

On the patio or in front of the fireplaces in the black-and-white "table d'hôte" dining rooms, head chef Alain Souliac creates dishes that respect the rich gastronomic traditions of the Basque region. Only the very best local ingredients are used. The wine list has around 60 wines, from the great appellations of the southwest of France and Northern Spain, to the rarest vintages among the roughly 1,000 bottles contained in the magnificent oak cellar.

Two vegetable gardens on the estate will also provide delicious ingredients - vegetables, herbs, seasoning plants, fruit.
